[Hidden-tech] iPhone 5 advice needed

 From what I recall, after a reboot the phone needs to be unlocked by 
the PIN. It also needs permission to trust a computer the first time 
it's attached to it. If touch sensing still works then you could attempt 
to tap those invisible buttons by using the new phone to approximate the 
position on the other's screen.

If iCloud is setup then perhaps leave it connected to a familiar wifi 
network and let it synchronize that way.

If the screen sustained the only damage consider replacing the screen, 
recovering the data, and selling the phone afterwards to recoup the cost.
