Make sure you're using a legitimate Adblocker. I personally use Adblock
Plus,

You should be able to rule out the cause by process of elimination. If
the ad blocker you have is from a reputable source, then I'd try
disabling the other one first. Also, take a look in the reviews for
either extension to see if others are reporting similar behavior.
There's also a chance that it's a system-level malware infection. If
you're running a PC, download Malware Bytes and run a scan.
