[Hidden-tech] Scanning glass slides

In the interest of getting this done as quickly as possible.... a smartphone may actually be your fastest method of getting this done. The iPhone 5 and 6 (especially the latter) and some others of the best smartphones out there, have tremendous closeup abilities.

I would find a window that gets direct sunlight..... remove the outside screen if there is one.... tape to the window glass a few layers of copy paper. Then tape the slides to the paper.

Mount the smartphone on a tripod (if you have a mount for that purpose -- I strongly suggest that avid photographers have a tripod mount for phones, it's very useful). Alternatively, you could hold the phone with your hands resting on the tripod.

I'd suggest hanging something on the part of the window that you're not using, to stop light from falling directly onto the camera lens. And don't forget to clean the lens before doing this task.

I'd also recommend using an app specifically designed for closeup photography. For iPhone, one that I use a lot is called "Magnifying Glass With Light Pro" which is 2 bucks...
