There is a bit of 'trickyness' when moving a WP site (something I deal with).
When the destination hostname is *different* from the source hostname. I run
nightly MySQL backups and rsync my sites to my home system. From time to time
I 'migrate' the backup trees to a local install tree and then 'restore' the
SQL backups to the MySQL server DB on my home system. The home system uses
different hostnames (to allow me to access both the live production sites and
the local test sites with distint URLs). *I* deal with this with a shell
pipeline containing sed (eg search and replace of the hostname / domain name).
I have noticed that *some* theme options get messed up and need separate
fixing. Note if full URLs are hard coded into the content, this can be a
problem when migrating to a new hostname/domain name. Usually requires a bit
of tedious search and replace work.

I have moved WP sites (and a Joomla site) from a CentOS 4 server to a CentOS 5
server. Just a matter of rsync'ing the files and then restoring the database
from the backup. Then updating the DNS records (old server IP => new server
IP).
