[Hidden-tech] How can I add a picture when WordPress Add Media button doesn't work?

Some of my sites haven't worked properly since upgrading from WordPress 3.9
to 4.0. Some of them have fixed themselves with subsequent updates, but
some have not.

One that has not is makinggreensexy.com, currently running WordPress 4.1. I
cannot edit in visual mode (it shows zero words in the edit window) and I
also can't get any response at all when pressing the Add Media button.

I am trying to add a picture to one of the pages on that site. I thought a
good workaround would be to create an images folder and add the image to
it, then use this code:

However, the picture isn't showing.

The other images on the site were installed before the conversion to 4.0,
and wee ported over from the older site that this mirrors, at
making-green-sexy.com. I have also added the same graphic in that site's
image folder; however, I can't access that site except through CPanel,
because it redirects to the no-hyphen version.

Any ideas?
