[Hidden-tech] SOFTWARE TO WIPE HDD?

Hello Mavens...

I have an old netbook I want to donate, but I need to wipe the HDD first. I
have an external USB CD/DVD drive I can use to run software from a CD or I
could use a flash drive.

Question is... what software do  your recommend.

Similarly, lI have a bunch of old HDD drives and the hardware to connect
them with USB, but again, need software to wipe them.

BTW, the guy I donate to takes outdated computers and builds usable
machines for folks who can't afford one. Usually kids or the elderly. If
you have old stuff, he will pick it up.
