[Hidden-tech] Need help with Japanese bilingual computing

My 84-year-old Japanese stepfather wants to replace his 10-year-old
bilingual Mac (running something like System 10.2).

It was hard enough getting him a replacement keyboard earlier this year, and
the solution, if you can call it that, was extremely kludgy. He currently
has two keyboards connected, one for English, and one for Japanese.

Is there someone who can help him buy a machine (preferably Mac as he¹s
never used a PC) that can run Genko Shoshiki, which types vertically from
right to left in either 40 lines times 30 letters or 30 lines times 40
letters (and probably help him set it up, too).

Arigato,
