Hi Shel,

Has anything changed in your hosting environment, site software, or local workstation, software upgrades, etc. since the last time you were able to edit successfully? What version of WP are you using?

Before you do anything, I'd suggest that you back up your site files and database in your hosting control panel first.

If could be file corruption and if so, you could try "re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress" (same version).
(Beware, if you have hacked any core code in those directories your site could break.)

You could try installing the "Use Google Libraries" plugin as described here:
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/visual-editor-not-working-after-33-upgrade

"Go to your plugins and just search "use google libraries" install and activate and BAM everything is working now..."

(Read the whole thread. It's an older thread, but depending upon your version of WP, it could be the fix.)

Good luck,
Kimo
