If the black hats are clever enough to spoof your own number... Spoofing a phone number is trivial. There is a web site that does for you. I tried it once, as at that time I had enough phone lines to do so. I had two numbers here and one in Nova Scotia in Canada. That number in NS was on wha=t they called the "cottage rate" which is about half price in the colder months. Essentially it is disconnected, but the number and directory listing goes on. So I called from one line thru the web site, to my second line here, and used the NS number for a spoof. During the "call" here, I checked my ID box here noting that the NS number was displayed. If someone can write a web page to do this, it shouldn't be much of an exercise to do it in a "boiler room."
