[Hidden-tech] Cable Router

I've never tried this kind of thing, but I see that the Amped AP600EX
got a lot of very bad reviews on Amazon.com.

Based once again solely on Amazon reviews, the Engenius Technologies
ENH202 long range 11n wireless bridge/access point would appear to be a
better choice. It has higher radio power and a lower price.

The proper way to use these things is to get two of them and line them
up to bridge the line of sight distance. The one at your house should
be connected to your router. You'll need a second router in the barn,
connected to the bridge device at that end, to provide your wireless
reception there.

This isn't quite the same thing, but I improved the wireless network in
my house by putting a Trendnet TEW-680MB media bridge in my living room
and connecting the TV, Yamaha receiver and an HTPC to that directly.

The TEW-680MB also has lousy ratings on Amazon, but reading them, I'd
say most of the reviewers don't seem to understand how to use the device
effectively. The same may be true of the Amped AP600EX, but the Engenius
ENH202 would still be a better buy.

If you do try this and it works, pleased let everyone else on HT know.
