[Hidden-tech] Cable Router

After the cable modem, you can use more than one WIFI router for coverage.
If you assign all of them the same SSID and password, your devices will
tend to choose the one with the strongest signal as you move through the
house. That's what I did in my modest ranch - the two wireless routers are
in the basement, one at the end, one in the middle (because it is just
physically convenient) and I have a strong signal everywhere. Previously
the signal was kinda pooky in spots.

New routers with 802.11ac have the fastest speed, theoretically 3x faster
than the previous 802.11g, assuming your devices have that ac capability.
(You can buy ac dongles for the devices.) More importantly, some ac
routers have the ability to shape the signal to "aim" for the target
device, to direct a stronger signal to the device. Here is a reasonable
article explaining them from Dec 13

But like I said, with multiple less expensive routers you will get
excellent coverage. You gotta run at least one wire through the house to
daisy-chain the routers.
