Could you do what you need to do using Virtual PC? Virtual PC is designed to
run older versions of Windows on a Windows 7 (or 8 I presume) computer. You
do need a version of Windows 7 that includes the capability of running
Virtual PC but there's no additional cost beyond that.

I am working on an "old" Windows 95 Computer.....
Okay, now that you have stopped laughing... :0)
 
I am trying to help my neighbor get his program back up and running. He does
custom kitchen cabinets and he has an expensive app that runs on 95.
 
I just installed Windows 95.... on a separate drive..
when I boot up for the first time I get this error message:
 
 
While initializing device IOS:
windows protection error. you need to restart your computer
 
I have tried just about everything...
has anyone seen ..... or I guess remember seeing... this before?
 
I can't even boot in safe mode... just keeps looping around...
