[Hidden-tech] Adobe Security Alert

Yes, I got the same letter and I also got an email from them recently about
this. I am not that worried, but my relationship with Adobe is pretty
simple: I bought my latest upgrade of Adobe Creative Suite from them, just
before they stopped selling Creative Suite as the old standard "buy the
software and you have a permanent license to use it." And, the credit card I
used for that purchase is no longer valid as the credit card number was
stolen (my credit card company caught it before any serious "damage" was
done). I suppose it is possible that it was stolen via Adobe since the
timing was about right, but I think it's more likely that it was someplace
more local since the first fraudulent charge was in Ashfield. I might be
more worried about the Adobe situation if I had ongoing charges running
through Adobe or other more complex stuff going on via their website. Still,
not much I can see to do other than keep a close eye on the credit card and
change any passwords.

Hello Hidden-Techies
Did anyone else receive notification of a security alert from Adobe?
I got a letter in today's mail saying they were notifying me of "an incident
that involved information about me." I tried calling their support number to
get more information, but the wait time was more than 2 hours so I went to
the web link and read the FAQ page about it. It's hard for me to tell
exactly what happened or how serious it is.
I changed my adobe password, as they recommended. Is there something
else I should do? On a scale of 1 to 10, how worried should I be?

So, I guess this "incident" is an addendum to our recent thread
about how awful the sign-up procedure is for Creative Cloud.
Thanks, as always, for any info or advice you might have.
	Lynne
