You need to be a CLEC and have built into the Verizon Serving wire center before you can order DSL copper loops You can access unbundled sub loop assemblies from a remote terminal but you need to be in the SWC and the remote terminal I have run a couple DSLAMS in the area through my CLEC. the copper is questionable. The hardest part is interfacing and ordering with Verizon. > On Nov 29, 2013, at 9:54 AM, Robert Heller <heller at deepsoft.com> wrote: > > ** Be sure to fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. > ** If you did, we all thank you. > > > Given that MBI/AXIA will be lighting up the fiber backbone in the next couple > of months, I have some thoughts and questions. > > It is likely going to be 3-5 years before the fiber last mile is completed, > but I had a thought about a possible interum solution, but I am not sure about > if/how it could work. > > My (limited) understanding about DSLAM technology is that it connects the > existing copper analog phone lines to some sort of Internet backbone, commonly > in the form of a high speed digital interface (like a T1 or fiber connection) > to a central office.
