Overall Position Description
Chiliad is at the center of two of the most critical forces in enterprise technology: Big Data and the Cloud. Chiliad's mission is to help people efficiently extract useful, actionable meaning from enormous and varied Big Data collections. While on-premise deployment is typical today, our architecture allows us to migrate to a cloud-based deployment supporting the largest cloud providers. The Product Manager is the central person in defining how we build on current, proven product capabilities to deliver on this mission.

The Product Manager for the Chiliad product suite is critical to Chiliad's product design and development process. Chiliad has transitioned to an Agile development approach with the Product Manager as the most active and visible Product Owner and process owner.

Ideal candidates have a demonstrated ability to "lead without formal authority," applying experience, market knowledge, and passion to rally the company in general and development team in particular to a shared, market-responsive product development goal.

The Product Manager orchestrates the company's Agile product development process in close partnership with the Engineering team. This includes roadmap definition, market analysis, field & customer input, sufficiently detailed requirements (aka Agile stories), and prioritization among features, Agile sprints, and releases.

This role will be a leadership position with broad responsibility, interacting with and coordinating input from Sales and Engineering teams, senior staff, customers, and partners. Ideal candidates will value active outreach intended to understand diverse opinions to deliver a coherent, compelling, industry-leading product.

Although Engineering is the audience for most of the Product Manager's deliverables and a separate Product Marketing function takes primary responsibility for customer and partner tools, the Product Manager will also take a leadership role on selected customer and partner-facing materials.

Reporting Relationship, Location, and Compensation
This position reports to the VP of Marketing. Compensation is competitive, including generous benefits and stock option participation. This position is located in Amherst, MA.

Responsibilities
*         Lead the company's Agile product development process, including roadmap definition and management, market analysis, field & customer analysis and input, feature and sprint requirements, and prioritization among features, bugs, Agile sprints, and releases.
*         Establish and manage a formal, inclusive process for customer, partner, and internal team member input into product requirements.
*         Analyze competition to help Marketing, Engineering and Sales establish a leadership position in the industry and respond effectively while selling.
*         Take ownership of selected, technical tools to support customers, sales teams, and partners.
*         Demonstrate product capabilities to diverse audiences, from prospects and partners to industry analysts and press.

Preferred Experience and Skills
*         5-7+ Years of product management experience in technology, with proven capabilities working with Engineering and Sales teams.
*         Market analysis, with preferred emphasis on direct conversations with prospects and customers to derive market needs.
*         Cross-functional team leadership.
*         Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills, including comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
*         Agile process.
*         Key domains experience:
o    Big Data-both industry trends and offerings such as Hadoop, Lucene, and Endeca.
o    Structured data (e.g. databases) and unstructured information (e.g. Office and web documents)
o    Healthcare delivery, including healthcare reform mandates on hospitals, hospital groups, and Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs)
o    Government-intelligence and civilian agencies
