Also, you don;t need to utilize Comcast's modems at all. I for one do not, because frankly, I wanted a better modem. You are paying for the signal delivery and access, but there's no reason you need to rent their modem. I will say that Comcast techs have warned me that some modem models do not work very well with their signal, and I am somewhat skeptical about that. I'm utilizing a Motorola Surfboard SB6120.
