[Hidden-tech] Can someone remind my copy of Word that it can do footnotes

The footnoting command has disappeared from my Word 2004 v. 11.5.0, 
running on Mac OS 10.5.8. Help search only shows "view footnotes," 
which is dimmed because there aren't any yet. I've tried both 
command-e and command-h, which worked in previous versions. Nope.

Can anyone figure this one out?
