I had a very technically skilled VA for many years, but she's become less and less reliable. Then I hired one who is thrown by anything too technical. I can still use her for some tasks, but I need to find someone who can handle what she can't. I need someone to help with website management: putting up new or revised content, adding or occasionally subtracting or repricing items in my Zencart shopping cart, sending out newsletters, and a monthly column, dealing with webhosting issues (including blocking the occasional hack)--with a strong technical background. Once in a while, redesigning some component. I have about a dozen sites in all, most of them done in WordPress hosted on my own servers. Three sites are done in HTML with CSS on two of those--the two that get the most new content. The third is a small, old site that hardly ever gets updated. I do a lot of the updating of the WP sites myself, but not all of it. The HTML sites, I definitely *don't* want to update myself, but there are templates for new content. I'm looking at the tasks I've requested over the last few months. Here's a sampler: Deal with my then-hosting company, HTTMme, blocking several of my sites, in sequence, for malware: tracking down and getting rid of the rogue script, running tests on Securi, etc. Work with Hostgator on the transition when I switched hosting companies Fix a broken shopping cart (seems to be related to an SSL issue. Solution was in process last time I checked) Deal with PCI certification challenges for credit card merchant processing Reinstall a simple webform that I accidentally overwrote I expect to continue to use my current VA for routine matters, but she's not up to handling these sorts of things. So...can anyone recommend someone who'd be available for a few hours per month on a pretty-much on-call basis, priced affordably? -- _________________________________________________ Shel Horowitz Marketing consultant/copywriter, author, speaker, book shepherd Affordable, ethical, effective marketing materials and strategies "Reach Green, socially conscious consumers with marketing that has THEM calling YOU" Twitter: @shelhorowitz * First business ever to be Green America Gold Certified * Inducted into the National Environmental Hall of Fame http://greenandprofitable.com/ http://guerrillamarketinggoesgreen.com mailto:shel at greenandprofitable.com * 413-586-2388 Award-winning author of eight books.
