Hi everyone. This note is directed to the female Hidden tech members . I am in the midst of work on my new book, ³The New Soft war on Women.² Research shows that while young women do well at entry level, often recruited by companies looking for diversity, the picture changes the higher women go. Buried landmines and stereotypes hold women back in a major way; they carry a burden that men simply do not have to bear. (Women in tech areas often have special problems working in a male dominated field. ) With my co author, Dr. Roz Barnett, I have put together a short survey asking women whether they have experienced several of the problem scenarios that hamstring women. I¹d be very pleased if those of you who have the time and interest would fill out our survey. The more details the better, as far as we are concerned. (Please note if you would be happy with having your name, position and place of business used. If not, we would be happy to use the information while disguising your identity and where you work.) To see the survey, go to http://softwarsurvey.com/ When you hit submit, the completed survey goes directly to Dr. Barnett. thanks, caryl rivers ----------------------- Caryl Rivers professor journalism, Boston University tel: 617 353 3469 fax: 617 353 3405 ----------------------
