Hi all,

Mohawk Trail Toastmasters invites you to our semi-annual open house this Thursday at Buckland Shelburne Elementary School. It’s free and it might help you speak more confidently to buyers, funders and employees; address more audiences; create more value for yourself and your stakeholders; and have more fun while doing it. Our members workshop keynote speeches, hone sales calls, and speak to inform, persuade, entertain and inspire. We're very good for business. Your business.

Nervous or shy speakers are welcome. Participants will learn some anxiety is natural and useful, but that shyness doesn't have to stop them from being effective public speakers and meeting their personal and professional goals.

The meeting is Thursday, September 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at BSE, 75 Mechanic St., Shelburne Falls.

You’ll hear from seasoned and beginning speakers, learn how we support them through evaluation, and have an opportunity to speak if the mood strikes you. We meet at the same location on the first and third Thursday of every month, and provide refreshments.

Mohawk Trail Toastmasters, serving Franklin County, is part of Toastmasters International, the educational nonprofit organization founded in 1924 to improve members' communication, public speaking and leadership skills. Since its founding, TI has served some four million members in 116 countries.

Our chapter launched in Shelburne Falls in April as a project of the Shelburne Falls Area Business Association, and the response has been fantastic. We’ve outgrown our startup space, and are looking forward to meeting you this Thursday at our new home at BSE.

Please make time to drop in — and SHARE this invitation with anyone in Franklin County you believe could benefit from a bit more support in becoming a more confident, engaging and effective public speaker.

Let me know if you have any questions. I'm the club secretary (as well as president of BrattleMasters, the Toastmasters club of Brattleboro, Vt.).
