Hi Stacey,

Sounds like these are just one-time purchases, yes?
There are numerous Joomla extensions on the JED that enable you to set up PayPal buttons in content articles for individual products. Find one that is compatible with your current version of Joomla AND also 2.5, since you'll want to be able to upgrade it at some point. Read the reviews in the extension's JED profile and visit the developer's support forum to make sure it is actively supported. Unless you know that you'll gross more than $1000/month in sales, PayPal, or some other hosted solution is the way to go. (When you go over that, come talk to me. I can set you up with an Internet Merchant Account with a 2.19% discount rate.)

You'll probably need some kind of an anti-leech file manager extension so that people don't pass your file links around — again, listed on the JED.

If your business model involves doing repeat business with customers, then you might want to think about allowing them to have an account with your site for their convenience, which means another more involved setup, i.e., subscription plans and management.

Best,
Kimo

I'm looking for the easiest most reliable solution since I am only going to sell a handful of documents/files for now (so I don't need a full $30/month shopping cart) and I am not an ultra-savvy web designer - just someone who has learned Joomla, Wordpress as needed (www.swampdancer.com). As Swampdancer Resources I do not currently subscribe to a shopping cart like Shopify or Volusion (http://store.BucklandMassHistory.org), which I DO run for the historical society. Google Cart integration looks too complicated for me to code into Joomla right now.
