[Hidden-tech] selling digital media files online

Hi Stacy,

Here are some easy-to-use digital download services that I researched for my "Launch Your Information Empire" course:

FastSpring http://www.fastspring.com
Scubbly http://www.scubbly.com
Kagi http://www.kagi.com/

These services are extremely easy for both you and the customer.  You upload your digital product, input the price and other info about it, then they give you a BUY button.  When someone buys, the service delivers their purchase to them instantly.

You get paid once or twice a month, and they deduct their service fee from your earnings.  You do not owe them any monthly fee, you do not require your own merchant account, and therefore they are great for startups with an unpredictable level of sales.

Good luck,

What services do you advise looking at for selling digital files
PDFs, Excel & Word documents, zip files (not e-books).

    I'm considering a straight Paypal

      solution or some extension
for Joomla. I'm looking for the easiest most reliable solution
since I am only going to sell a handful of documents/files for now
(so I don't need a full $30/month shopping cart) and I am not an
ultra-savvy web designer - just someone who has learned Joomla,
Wordpress as needed (www.swampdancer.com). As Swampdancer Resources
I do not currently subscribe to a shopping cart like Shopify or
Volusion (http://store.BucklandMassHistory.org), which I DO run for
the historical society. Google Cart integration looks too
complicated for me to code into Joomla right now.

    Thanks.

    Stacy Kontrabecki
