I have good had good luck with third party compatible cartridges, which are a bit different than refills. (Both are recycled, but differently) The third party compatibles generally re-use the plastic hopper from the original cartridge, but replace all the gears and other worn components with brand new gears, etc. They are also disassembling the hoppers and cleaning them before filling them, rather than the "poke a hole and fill" process. Worlds Apart Games where I volunteer in Amherst has been using a brother 1040 for 4 years using such cartridges with no problems at all. I generally recommend and order through Inkmart - a US based compatible cartridge manufacture, that also sells OEM cartridges. ---*** Full Disclosure: I have a reseller account with Inkmart and order their cartridges for my customers. I may have a biased view *** --- Thanks, -- Kiernan Gulick-Sherrill Green Earth Computers www.greenearthpc.us kiernan at greenearthpc.us 413-282-TECH Follow Me: [image: Facebook] <http://www.facebook.com/greenearthpc> [image: LinkedIn] <http://www.linkedin.com/in/kiernangs> [image: Twitter]<http://www.twitter.com/greenearthpc> Member: Business Networking International (BNI) Mill River Chapter: visit http://millriverbni.com PPlease consider the environment before printing this e-mail On Tue, Mar 13, 2012 at 12:48 PM, Deborah Chandler <debchandler411 at gmail.com > wrote: > ** Be sure to fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. > ** If you did, we all thank you. > > > Hi, > > I need to replace the toner cartridge in my laser printer soon.
