[Hidden-tech] Tether Netbook to 3G Android for Data Service

Mark,
I have tethered multiple laptops, PS3s, an Xbox360, a Kindle, IPod and IPad
to my phone's data service. All the devices connect to the Hotspot in the
same manner they'd connect to any Access Point. I'm assuming you are using
a WiFi hotspot app on your Android.
You turn your app on and the Android broadcasts the Access Point's SSID.
The device can see it and you can connect. Most tethering apps have some
advanced security features, MAC filtering, and turning off the SSID
broadcast for instance.
Just remember the data is dependant on your carrier, don't do it unless you
have unlimited data in most cases. Also, some of the best WiFi tethering
apps are only useable by rooted Android devices! Personally, I'd recommend
rooting to get the better apps, but that's just me.
Hope that helps!
