To get yourself onto Google Maps, what you want to work through is what's called Google Places: http://www.google.com/places For finding latitude and longitude without a handheld GPS to look them up while actually standing in front of your location, I find Google Earth very useful. You have to download and install it but then you can zoom in on an aerial photograph of where you are, find your location using visual landmarks (you do need to be able to figure out where you are based on looking at aerial photographs (you can start with an address but to fine tune it you have to look for landmarks in the photograph). Then hover your mouse cursor over your location and the latitude and longitude will show up at the bottom of the window. http://earth.google.com Bruce ________________________________ From: Susanna Opper <susanna at shawenon.com> To: Hidden-discuss <hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net> Sent: Wed, June 13, 2012 1:26:15 AM Subject: [Hidden-tech] Add a location to Google maps ** Be sure to fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. ** If you did, we all thank you. Hi Wise Ones, This is ridiculous, but how do I add my location to Google maps? I’ve looked everywhere online and can’t find out how to do it. Also, how do I find the coordinates for my location since Google and most GPS systems have it wrong. I’ve been told if we give people the coordinates they can put them into their GPS (if they know how). As ever, thanks. --Susanna ------------------------------------- Susanna Opper Shawenon Communications Our distinction is communicating your distinction 413-528-6494 susanna at shawenon.com www.shawenon.com Twitter: @SusannaOpper Click here to try Constant Contact free for 60 days! -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
