Greetings H-Ters! Looking for a technical program for your students this summer? The Williston Northampton School is presenting two identical 5-day Robotics Workshop Sessions on its campus for rising 9th through 12th grade students. Session I runs from July 23-27 and Session II from August 6-10. The workshop's emphasis is to introduce the writing of C++ programs for autonomously control of pre-built NXT-based robots. Students will compete with each other in a number of robot "Challenges" designed to test the accuracy of the robot's movement as guided by the student's programming. No prior C++ programming experience is required, but students should be competent in using a computer running OS X or Windows 7. This is a day program that runs from 8:45 in the morning until 4:00 in the afternoon. Lunch is provided in Williston's Birch Dining Commons for all workshop students. Tuition is $300 for the week and enrollment is limited to 12 students per workshop. The deadline for registration (and a $50 deposit) in due by June 29th. Registration is based on a first come basis.
