[Hidden-tech] Local script consultants?

Hi all,

Saturday's Daily Hampshire Gazette had a front-page article about a history professor at Mt. Holyoke who served as a behind-the-scenes history consultant to the upcoming BBC America series "Copper," which is set during the Civil War.  Does anyone know anyone else - academic or otherwise - who's done this for a feature film, documentary or TV series?

This is for something I'm writing on deadline.
