[Hidden-tech] Help Wired West Bring Broadband to your Community

As a local service provider I'm eager to use the MBI infrastructure. I already have two circuits live on the MBI network and will add more as the network comes online. Leverett MA recently passed through town vote a local municipal fiber to the home build out. This is a tax payer funded network that will allow service providers to deliver high speed service to every house in Leverett. The town has to increase its tax rate a bit to cover the build but over all home owners will pay less for their internet and phone service. Tax + Internet + phone should be less than their current phone + DSL/Satellite Internet . As a service provider I'm eager to provide internet and voice services over the Leverett network once it comes online.

For Leverett I'm planning full Gigabit Ethernet to every home + unlimited residential voice service. I have plenty of IPv4 space and IPv6 space to handle a significant network expansion.

I'm ready to provide high speed data and voice services over MBI today. I recently invested in new core routing hardware so my network can deliver the speeds available on MBI. I already have a GigE cross connect with MBI in Springfield and can easily increase that to multiple 10 GigE cross connects as customers come online.

I haven't heard of issues with service providers snubbing the MBI network. It is very hard to sell something that doesn't exist and I expect I'll have a lot more competition in the area once the network is fully operational. I may be the first service provider but I don't expect to be the only.

I'm interested in Wired West and will absolutely look to provide my services over their network if it is an open network that allows service provider competition.

I am not implying anything either way about it, just that the concern exists for some people who vocalize it regularly at MBI sessions. The Wired West last mile will depend on those providers that use this fiber.

I would just like to clarify that WiredWest is looking for people to IN WIREDWEST TOWNS to sign the support form, which basically says that you’re interested in getting service from WiredWest when the network is built. There is a map of WiredWest towns on our website - http://wired-west.net/participating-towns/regional-map/
