[Hidden-tech] RIP, Steve Jobs

Like many others I owe a great deal to Apple and Jobs. My earliest days of programming were at about 13 or 14 on the VIC20 Commodore 64 and TRS80. I then got to play on some Apple IIe's at the community college. But it was when I was 19 (24 years ago!) and got my first mac that my career in Technology was launched. I have worked in front of a Mac ever since.

Having kept the "faith" with Apple for all those years and seeing them grow with Steve's leadership into the company they are today has been wonderful.

He led Apple to build tools that have empowered untold numbers of people in their creative endeavors and he did so with an unyielding commitment to quality and beauty. Anyone who has ever purchased and opened their new apple product knows what I am talking about.

I will miss following Steve, but I think he has done what all amazing (corporate) leaders do....they hire incredible people and inspire them. There are a lot of incredible and inspired people at Apple and elsewhere that will carry his vision and ingenuity forward.

-Wes
