Not to beat the topic to death, but one piece of useful advice is to check the return policy. If the carrier you go with is not workable, switching phones is a possibility, this is where a place that has multiple carriers like Best Buy could be quite useful. Just don't take their extended warranty plan, especially with an iPhone.
