[Hidden-tech] Republic Wireless - WIFI based cell phone service

A new wireless carrier is trying a disruptive move, setting up a lower cost
service which uses WIFI as the primary network for voice and data unless
you're out of WIFI range. The service is in beta and that seems to
particularly apply to their customer support & fulfillment , and they offer
just one phone at this time, and Android Optimus with Android 2.3, with the
phone plus 1st month of service costing $199. Flat rate of $19 monthly ,
apparently uses Sprint for their cellular service partner now.

TechCrunch article about them:

-to-sell-handsets-for-99-until-november-27/

So, my question is: how is Sprint fringe area coverage in this area compared
with VZ and T? Is Sprint service coverage the same as ATT, or is there any
list of differences tower by tower available?

Thanks,

Charlie
