There is a very similar virus for the PC running about. The program wants $$ to 'repair' the computer. It also looks almost exactly the same as a Microsoft Security window. I got it and had some "fun" deleting all of it. One trick I used was to let a Microsoft virus checker find many of the files, then I jotted down the date & time of the files, before letting the program delete them. Next I searched for all files with the same date and approximately the same time, which I deleted using the DOS box. As I recall there were four that the Microsoft program & Malware bytes didn't get. So far, so good. I should also mention that I acquired the real repair programs on a different computer, and placed them unto a USB stick that has a write lock switch. Later I filed these programs on an CD ROM. Wow, this group is great. We got several very worthy responses, and hopefully she'll be able to figure out how to run the uninstaller. (Or if not, I'll have to go over and do it for her). Thanks x 10 to the 6th. -- _________________________________________________ Shel Horowitz - 413-586-2388/ shel at frugalfun.com -->Join the Business Ethics Pledge - Ten Years to Change the World, One Signature at a Time (please tell your friends) <http://www.business-ethics-pledge.org> Marketing consulting * copywriting * publishing assistance * speaking How to market ethically/effectively: http://www.frugalmarketing.com Ethics Blog: http://www.principledprofit.com/good-business-blog/ Books: http://www.frugalmarketing.com/shop.html _________________________________________________ _______________________________________________ Hidden-discuss mailing list - home page: http://www.hidden-tech.net Hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net You are receiving this because you are on the Hidden-Tech Discussion list.
