Thanks, Andrew. Thunderbird is another one that I tried years ago and 
didn't like the interface. I might give it another look.

Paul, I took a look this morning. From what I can tell from MS's very 
anemic webpage for Outlook/Mac, http://www.microsoft.com/mac/outlook 
, there's very little info on its feature set; the page seems to be 
geared for Outlook users switching form PC. And the only review I 
could find bitched about its lack of integration with some particular 
calendar and didn't discuss its e-mail capabilities at all.

But the biggest problem is the lack of a stand-alone version. I don't 
really want to buy a new copy of Office just to experiment with a new 
e-mail client.
