You might also want to look at open office -- it has 'base' an access like database, and has PC and Mac (and linux) versions -- not sure if it provides a packaging function like some of the others do. Also check out Filemaker - which has a run-time for iPhone/iPad called Bento Another option is to work with a developer who knows the new features in HTML5, depending on how complex the added information is, the 'local storage' function of HTML5 might be sufficent.
