[Hidden-tech] it's about the oil

Here is a quick way to estimate the cost of running any electrical
appliance! It's simple math.
Start by checking the label see how many watts the device uses. then divide
1000 by that number. The result is the number of hours it takes for that
device to use up 1000 W of electricity which represents a kilowatt hour.
in Massachusetts, I believe we are charged an average cost per kilowatt hour
of about $.13 cents.

Example:
A 100 W light bulb uses 100 W.
1000 divided by 100 = 10
A kilowatt hour equals 1000 W and it takes the lightbulb 10 hours to consume
it.
The current utility rate is somewhere around $.13 per kilowatt hour.
So how much would it cost to run a 100 W light 8 hours each day for a year?
365 x 24 = 2920 hours
2920 divided by 10 (the amount of time it takes the lightbulbs consume 1 kWh
of energy) equals 292.
$.13 per kilowatt hour x 292 = $37.96

Cool Huh!
