[Hidden-tech] Facebook problem - any wisdom?

This is a belated thank you to all who gave suggestions and words of support. I wanted to let you know what's happened. After speaking with a lawyer who specializes in trademarks, I have let the issue go for now, in part.

The reason FB deleted my page so quickly and allowed the protester to have the name without any back and forth is that she has had that particular name as a URL since 2002. Even though she never trademarked the name, that was enough for FB to drop me like a hot potato to avoid any possible lawsuits.

I have registered the same name as a URL with a dash separating the words, which I actually prefer because it is legible. And I have posted my workshop of the same name on FB without any problem so far. At some point, if it seems important enough, I will post a FB page with the modified name, but it may not even be necessary.

I am considering trademarking the name down the road but that's on hold for reasons unrelated to this particular conflict.

Again thank you!

I checked, and she has not trademarked the name. Unfortunately, I haven't either. She called me once and posted comments repeatedly on my page for 12 hours, then complained to Facebook. Facebook removed my page just like that. She now has posted a page with the same name but has not posted any info yet.
