[Hidden-tech] Please be considerate of your fellow list readers and your list moderator

Please be considerate of the those you have to read your posts,
most of us get 100's (or 1000's) of messages a day and can't study each post
to tell what it really means*--->> make the subject mean something.
* (This goes double for your beleaguered list moderator)*

Prevent Tread Drift*

1) be more conscious of list subjects when responding on a similar but different topic,
if different, then make a new post - no old content
if close then change the subject

2) Making a meaningful subject in the first place helps

3) Never reply to a digest message without using a new subject

*Compose messages more targeted*

This is more for new timers - most of the regular posters know this

1) One topic per post

2) Do not use reply to when making a new post - start a fresh message and send to the list
address,
which is HT-discuss <Hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net>

I can't tell you how many replies are sent to the bounce address - which does not get to
the list

3) review the policies - if you're not sure what they mean - ask the webmaster at hidden-tech.net
http://www.hidden-tech.net/lists/posting.html

4) Search for older messages before asking: (search on top of home page)
The newer content is not always at the top of a search response, so go a page
or 2, looking at the dates.

Note: Any suggestions on how to improve our goggle indexing would be helpful,
we've had some issues with google indexing the latest list content,

And a few other notes:
*Please Do NOT post lists or service emails to the List *
                (Linkedin, Evite, Facebook messages)

1) Linkedin has a 'invite from my address book' that a number of people have used, so:
How do I withdraw an invitation to connect?
        https://help.linkedin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26
<https://help.linkedin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26>

2) Do not include HT Discussion list email when sending announcements:

If you include the HT discussion list email address and others on the same email,
then you have just sent your whole TO/CC list to every one on the HT list,
and, when they reply, the reply will go to everyone on your original TO list.
not really a good thing.
