As Matt pointed out, WiredWest is working with several towns
to bring fiber to homes and businesses. We expect to
incorporate in August. We've talked to a few organizations
interested in helping us get bond financing, and that's
encouraging. What we really need now are donations to help
us pay legal, consulting and engineering fees so that we
have a solid plan with realistic numbers that we can bring
to financiers. We've just received a $50,000 planning grant
from MBI, which will help a lot, but we need at least twice
that. So for all of you bandwidth-hungry rural
hidden-techies and everyone else who cares about the
continued economic growth of this area, WiredWest has a
DONATE button on our website at
http://wired-west.net/how-you-can-help/support-the-project/

I have seen surveyors all over the valley measuring telephone poles. I think they are planning on hanging fiber later this summer. I-91 fiber is almost complete along with their connection to 1 Federal St.
