Neal is right on the money here. If you must DM everyone who follows you, the best action is to personalize each one. That can actually have the opposite effect and get people's attention. I guess I'd be communicating with an audience like myself, someone who understands that Twitter is important in social media but who uses other communication much more frequently, namely email and email via Facebook and LinkedIn (Groups too), and our blog. I would like to let people know that I'll mostly be broadcasting out via Twitter and dialogue will be done more with other channels.
