Hi Dan,

Mine would beep and alert that power had gone out or that the battery wasn't working at random times. When the power did go out everything would shut off within a few seconds.

Their customer support confirmed my findings of the dead battery, but were unable to help. It was an inexpensive UPS, but it never worked when I needed it to. I would suggest giving yours a little bit of testing to make sure it works if you decide to stick with that model (though that holds true with any UPS).

The APC on the other hand has been great, as have all of the APCs that we've used in the shop.

-Elijah.

Since then I've switched to APC and been much happier. The APC comes at a price premium, but it is definitely a case of "you get what you pay for."
