Andy, There are quite a few such services. GoToMeeting is the best (IMO) in terms of usability and reliability. You can have up to 16 people in a session, and you can make _any_ of them the presenter, including taking control of their keyboard / mouse; or return to sharing your own desktop. GTM costs $50/month. (If you are a non-profit you can get an annual license for $50 from TechSoup.org. ) There a quite a few products and services that attempt to emulate GoToMeeting, with varying degrees of success. Variables include cost; supported O/S & browser; whether you can take control or just show; changing the presenter; number of participants, and other variables. I've tried 5 or 6 of the list below, and keep returning to GTM even though it costs $. But many people are quite satisfied with one or more of these. If you try any of these, I personally wouldn't mind getting an update on which you like / dislike, and why; and I suspect other HT-ers might benefit from your experience too. - Jeremy www.yugma.com www.yuuguu.com www.vyew.com www.mikogo.com www.shareitnow.com www.glance.net www.webex.com www.logmein.com www.fuzemeeting.com www.showscreen.com www.eblvd.com www.ezmeeting.com www.beamyourscreen.com www.gomeetnow.com www.gatherplace.com > Date: Mon, 25 Apr 2011 15:36:06 -0400 > From: "Andy Klapper" <andytk at charter.net> > Subject: [Hidden-tech] Remote desktop control software > To: <hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net> > Message-ID: <012d01cc0380$050dcef0$0f296cd0$@charter.net> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" > > > I am starting a new consulting contract with a customer with offices in > NYC > and Northampton and they want to be involved in the work that I'll be > doing > for them.
