The Systems Developer - Web Applications is responsible for programming and related maintenance of the company's internal and/or external web sites, participating in all phases of the web development process. Provides technical leadership and support to staff involved in content, marketing, and editorial areas of internal and external Web environment. Works independently to create and maintain content websites; works as part of software development team to build and maintain complex web applications. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Design, develop, maintain and deploy web sites and web applications * Work with web development team to maintain complex web applications * Work with web design team to create intuitive and effective user interfaces using wireframes and prototyping user interfaces * Perform project estimation and planning functions * Participate in integration and system testing * Develop and maintain an understanding of business needs and objectives * Manage multiple projects using organizational/planning skills * Operate within defined standards and procedures * Prepare regular reports on all assigned activities as required by supervisor EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired * Minimum 2-3 years experience in designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated websites and web applications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Proficient in object oriented design and programming (C# preferred) * Proficient in web application technology (IIS and ASP.NET preferred) * Good understanding of website technologies including HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, XSLT, Ajax, JavaScript, JavaScript libraries such as jQuery * Working knowledge of web standards and web browser capabilities; ability to create cross-browser, cross-platform, 508 Compliant/accessible pages * General understanding of relational database technology (SQL Server preferred) * Strong PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office products * Proficiency in Adobe products including Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator and Captivate is a plus * Experience with Agile development process is a plus. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a member of a team * Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities * Ability to work in a deadline driven environment * Proactively seeks opportunities to broaden and deepen knowledge base and proficiencies * Excellent customer service attitude, communication skills (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills To access the online response form immediately, please use the following link: http://sh.webhire.com/servlet/resp/rf?jobid=2491847&boardid=1905.
