This is not going to happen.  The population densities are not high
enough for it to be profitable *for Verizon* to put in FiOS in Western
Mass, except for selected ("Cherry Picked") locations (either selected denser
places or only for large businesses or facilities).

Easthampton would probably do far better to hook up with WiredWest.

I read Easthampton's masterplan for the city when we were going through the home buying process.
