[Hidden-tech] Easthampton high speed internet options

Hi all,

My wife and I are moving to Easthampton in August from the Boston area. I have a freelance design/publishing services business and my wife will be telecommuting most days to her job in Boston. We plan to both have home offices and are wondering what our options are for high speed internet access in Easthampton. We'll be living about a half mile from the downtown on Main street -- if that affects which service providers are available.

It seems like Charter provides cable internet to the area, but is there any other competition? I don't know if DSL will work for the both of us. Any business plans that offer higher speeds? I'd love to hear folks opinions on the quality of service provided by the area ISPs.

It doesn't look like Verizon FIOS is available. Has anyone heard anything about if/when that might be offered in the area?
