Tamar, I have not used Charter, but a friend had a singularly terrible experience with them in Belchertown. My friend was setting up an apartment for her elderly mother and decided, based on my positive experience with Comcast, to drop the land line and get a combined phone, TV and internet service through Charter, including transferring the landline number to the cable based phone service. Charter transferred the number so the landline was cutoff but then did not complete the service setup for nearly two weeks so that my friend's elderly mother was left without the ability to call for help if she needed it during that time. My friend made many, many calls but Charter was quite unresponsive. This seems to echo what I've heard from other people in general, that the services themselves are OK once you get everything hooked up, but that dealing with customer service can be a nightmare.
