[Hidden-tech] suggestions needed for a relational database

Hi,
I do this all the time and though the suggestions by the others are
valid you must also take into account what type of IT infrastructure
that you have. A DBMS like MySQL, PostGreSQl, Oracle, are all excellent
and will work great but if you don't have a person really familiar with
DBMSs then I suggest you use Firebird (http://www.firebirdsql.org). This
is open source and as good as the above mentioned databases but it
manages itself automatically, running cleanup, etc....The longer it runs
the better it runs and it's memory and file size doesn't keep growing
and needing attention. Handles demands from hundreds of concurrent users
from web apps and desktop apps (openoffice, etc) equally well.
