[Hidden-tech] Raising funds, kickstarter.com

Sven,

I highly recommend it. I'd go as far as saying it's the best thing
since sliced bread. It does require a lot of outeach and publicity
and prodding but... a great way to raise money for a specific project
with specific incentives and rewards for the "backers".

I used it for a film project (temporarily on the side burners) that
failed fairly miserably due to the fact that I set the $ goal way too
high and set an incentive bracket too low...among a few other things.

But basically, noone loses money if the goal isnt reached and you're
just out of luck with a bruised ego and a stiff upper lip. and if you
DO reach you your goal you've advertised it along the way to people
who now have a vested interest in what you're doing.
Be glad to discuss with you further ...

(my expired/back-burnered project still exists here:

PS- if anyone knows anyone that has an extra $15k burnin a hole in
their pocket- I'd love to hear from them ;)
