We bought a Toshiba Mini NB305-N310 Netbook a few months ago for $350 for a trip and it was great.  In fact, my husband is now using it full-time at home very happily.

$400 "notebooks"?
I’ll be traveling in a third-world country and don’t want to bring my MacBookPro.. I was thinking I’d buy one of those $400 deals for Internet, email, and word processing... Does anyone have experience with one of these devices.... Any recommendations?
