[Hidden-tech] $400 "notebooks"?

Cynthia,

I travel to West and Central Africa on a regular basis.  No problem going with a Mac - I've been doing that for over 10 years.
I go to fairly rough places - Conakry, Guinea, Monrovia, Liberia, Bamako, Mali, Niamey, Niger....

I guess it depends upon your concerns and length of visit.

My view is that Macs tend to be more reliable and therefore good traveling partners.
