Located in historic Concord, Massachusetts, we have an immediate opening for a Webmaster. This creative self-starter will work with CC’s education, technical, and communications staff to participate in all phases of Web development, including strategy, project communication, graphic and interface design, site implementation, site maintenance and future site expansion. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES The candidate should have strong technical and graphic design skills for electronic media, be able to deliver expert guidance, learn and apply current and new skills, generate ideas and solutions on the fly, and be able to communicate these approaches to technical and non-technical folks alike. The candidate will have at least 3 years experience managing complex and challenging CMS-based Web development projects and possess a strong understanding and respect for web development processes, including strategy development, interface design, information architecture, content development, and site-wide implementation and rollout. The candidate must be able to articulate options, set priorities effectively, coordinate multiple simultaneous projects, meet deadlines, and maintain a sense of humor! Responsibilities: Connect elements and assemble content for CC redesigned website Coordinate launch of redesigned website Set up and maintain a CC multi-user blog Provide overall maintenance and upkeep of CC site and related Web properties Oversee and help plan integration between main site and project portals Assist in developing search taxonomy and tagging for asset library of educational technology activities and curating library resources Assist CC staff with all aspects of Web page production within CMS including encouraging, managing, editing and curating site content Oversee technical aspects and overall production of CC email newsletter Manage site video assets and assist with production and editing of promotional video spots and screencasts Oversee SEO integration and management, Web analytics and Google AdWords campaigns Perform graphical design tasks related to site upkeep, project needs and graphical coherence across organization as needed Assist with planning and launch of CC social networking and outward Web presence QUALIFICATIONS Necessary skills and experience include: Multi-year experience setting up and maintaining a Drupal-based site of significant size and complexity Fluency in PHP Proven ability to set up, administer and extend databases for Drupal- and Wordpress sites Experience extending and configuring Drupal modules and themes Proven experience translating the needs of a diverse group of individuals into excellent Web-based reality and assisting both technical and non-technical staff to do the same Excellent written and verbal communications skills Experience maintaining and interpreting Google Analytics for a complex site Knowledge of current best practices in SEO and experience implementing them Expert fluency with HTML, CSS and Web standards Familiarity with JavaScript programming Fluency in Macintosh, Windows and Linux / Unix operating systems and operation of command-line interfaces Desirable skills and experience: Skill at graphic design and experience with graphic design and layout software Experience writing original Drupal modules and themes Experience with video production and editing Experience managing, curating and tagging resources in a diverse library Experience with online marketing and public relations Experience managing social networking presence for a company or organization Programming ability in Ruby on Rails, Java and/or advanced JavaScript Familiarity with HTML5 and Web application programming frameworks Experience with frameworks for developing HTML5-based visualizations Experience with open source software development or interest in open source software The successful candidate will be required to work on site and must be authorized to work in the United States.
